Tia Maria Torres-Cardello

Tia Maria Torres-Cardello grew up a "rich brat" in Los Angeles, going to the yacht club for Sunday brunch with her parents. But teenage rebellion soon kicked in and she found herself running the streets of the "hood" and hanging out at "dangerously fun" parties. It was here that she fell into the edgy life of "gangs". Somehow she managed to barely make it out alive and took these experiences to build a career of passion from it. In working with high risk youth, she soon combined another love of her's: dogs. Together, years later she has built an empire for the largest Pit Bull Rescue in the country and conducts programs with these dogs in her quest to help also rehabilitate inmates and troubled youth. Controversial dogs and controversial people: the only way Tia would have it. Her mission statement? If you're gonna bite, bite hard.

Tia is the proud mother of two daughters:

Tania Marie, the oldest of Tia's daughters (20 years old) grew from a pudgy Latina infant, to a tall, olive skinned Venus. Raised by Tia as a single Mom (Tania's father was a gang member, in and out of prison and shot during a drug deal gone bad), Tania grew up to be a secure and head strong young lady. Though she is constantly being told that she should "become a model" her passion in life has followed in her mother's footsteps...she works with dogs and eventually wants to work in juvenile hall where Mom's program Pets In The Hood is conducted weekly. The loves of Tania's life are her Pit Bull, her French Bulldog, her truck and her tattoos.

Mariah Harmony, 14 years old, but the soul of a 40 year old, is Tia's "little angel". Dubbed "the little peanut" growing up, she soon blossomed in a multi-beauty queen with titles such as Jr. Miss Agua Dulce (her home town), Jr. Miss Hawaiian Tropic and Jr. Nat'l Miss. But don't be fooled by this "tiara queen", she is a tomboy at heart. Her loves include her Pit Bull, her French Bulldog (yes what one child has, the other has to have the same too..and they're not even twins), her motorcycle and MySpace. Her career goal??? A criminal defense attorney. Are you surprised? These ladies are definitely a family that are cut from the same mold.
